Python Lands in Private Zoo

An 18-foot-long python, found on the roof of a house in Srimongal upazila on Tuesday, was brought to the private zoo of wildlife preserver Sitesh Ranjan Deb in Srimongal town. After seeing the python on the house roof, Rushan Miah of Kakia Bazar village informed the forest department officials. Finding no response from them, he contacted with local wild animal preserver Sitesh Ranjan Deb. Sitesh Ranjan's son Sajal Deb went to the spot, caught the python and took it to the zoo of his father. Sitesh said he will eventually release the python, weighing about 40 kg, to Lawachhara Reserve Forest in Kamalganj upazila.
