Two abducted youths rescued, 2 arrested

Security personnel rescued two youths, abducted from Siddhirganj area under Narayanganj district on Friday, from remote Bhudumpara area under Manikchhari upazila of Khagrachhari district yesterday. They also arrested two abductors---Ful Mia, 40, son of late Fayez Ahmed of Dakkhin Baraiya village under Feni district, and Mohammad Tofazzal Mia, 30, son of Mohammad Haris Mia of Sahapur village under Noakhali district. The youths are Mohammad Shariar Hossain Riku, 25, son of Mohammad Amin Ali, and Asifuzzaman Mishu, 22, son of Abdur Rob of Siddhirganj, Narayanganj. Officer-in-Chage of Manikchhari Police Station Mohammad Abul Hashem said the abductors demanded Tk 20 lakh from the parents of the youths for their release. Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Maksudur Rahman said the abductors might have links with local gangs.
