Suspended head clerk dies
Nasir Uddin, head clerk of Carew's and Company who was suspended recently on charge of misappropriation, died on Monday.
According to police, Nasir felt pain in his chest at about 2:30 pm and died within a few minutes.
Doctors told the family members of the victim that Nasir suffered a severe heart attack.
On information, high officials of the company at Darshana, Chuadanga visited Nasir's house at night.
The authorities of the company also filed a general dairy with Damurhuda police station.
Nasir was suspended by the company on October 31 this year. A probe body was formed to investigate his alleged misappropriation of Tk 1.13 lakh of the company.
The probe body found the allegation against Nasir true.
Nasir also admitted his misdeed and appealed for mercy.
But the company authorities rejected his appeal and suspended him. The company also filed three separate cases against him.
Later, Nasir surrendered to court on November 12 and the court sent him to jail.
He, however, got bail on November 16 on health ground and was undergoing treatment.
