Bogra AL man sues journo

Bogra district unit President of Awami League Momtaz Uddin has filed a Tk 50 crore libel suit against Altamash Kabir, the editor, publisher and printer of the Sangbad and news editor of the Bangla daily. In the case was filed with Bogra First Joint District Judge's Court on Sunday, the plaintiff alleged that the Sangbad published libellous reports against him on August 17 and 19. The reports stating that gambling was organised at a fair controlled by him and a child died in stampede there and other matters made him a target of ridicule in different quarters including political and business circles, Momtaz Uddin said. The court has issued summon in the civil case.
