One to die for murder

A court here yesterday sentenced a man to death in a murder case. According to the prosecution, Sultan Ahmed, 35, of Bazitkhela village in Sadar upazila strangled his wife Marjina Begum, 30, mother of a daughter, on June 30, 2006 as she refused to bring dowry from her parents. Later, Sultan hung the body from a nearby tree to prove that she had committed suicide. Victim's brother Motahar Hossain filed a case with Sadar police station. Police submitted charge-sheet against seven people including Sultan in November, 2006.
