7-hr traffic jam as truck stuck on bridge

Traffic movement on Dhaka-Kapasia-Kishoreganj Road remained suspended for seven hours from 4:00am yesterday as a goods laden truck bound for Kishoreganj got stuck on Rajabari Bridge on the road. Several hundred vehicles remained stranded on both sides of the road, causing sufferings to the passengers. A serious traffic jam was created at Maona crossing on Dhaka-Mymensingh road as vehicles from Kapasia, Kishoreganj and Kotiadi had to use the road through Sreepur. A team of Sreepur police struggled for about three and a half hours from 8:00am to remove the truck from the bridge. Finally normal traffic movement was restored at 11:15am.
