10 injured as bus catches fire in Sirajganj

At least 10 people were injured as a passenger bus caught fire in Sirajganj while a godown was gutted in a devastating fire in Rangpur yesterday.
Our Correspondent in Sirajganj reports: At least 10 people were injured as a passenger bus caught fire on the Dhaka-Bogra highway in Koddarmoar area in the morning.
The injured were admitted to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital and local clinics in the town. Of the injured, condition of two is stated to be critical, hospital sources said.
Police and victims said, the incident took place at around 6.15am while a Dhaka-bound bus of Lam Yea Paribahan from Rang-pur reached Koddarmoar. The fire triggered by spark rapidly spread and engulfed the bus.
Being informed, fire fighters from Sirajganj rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
Our Correspondent in Thakurgaon reports: A godown was gutted in a devastating fire on Thakurgaon Road area yesterday.
Fire fighters and locals said the fire that broke out from an unknown source at about 12:30pm.
On information, fire fighters of Thakurgaon unit rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after an hour of frantic efforts with the help of local people.
Warehouse owner AKM Habib Sarkar claimed that the fire damaged goods worth about Tk 20 lakh.
Habib is a local distributor of Varosa Group of Industries that keeps match, coal, biscuit and other goods.
