Human chain on sea beach

A huge human chain was formed at Laboni point of Cox's Bazar beach yesterday morning with the slogan "Save Cox's Bazar, save Bangladesh; We want to save ourselves from global warming." People from all walks of life including people's representatives, government and non-government officials participated in the programme. Raising their hands they vowed: "We will not cut hills and resist destruction of all forests including mangrove forests in the interest of country and people." They also promised to save tourist town Cox's Bazar by protecting its environment and bio-diversity. Awami League lawmaker from Cox's Bazar-4 (Ukhia-Teknaf) constituency Abdur Rahman Bodi inaugurated the two hour-long programme. Cox's Bazar NGO Alliance for Climate Change organised this first ever programme on the sea beach.
