Chittagong vet university closed

Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) was closed sine die yesterday as a tense situation was prevailing on the campus due to indefinite student strike. The university syndicate in an emergent meeting of the academic council took the decision yesterday afternoon. The authorities also asked the male students to vacate their dormitories by 6:30pm yesterday and the females by 10:00am today. Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) enforced an indefinite strike at CVASU on Sunday morning demanding resignation of its vice chancellor Dr Nitish Chandra Devnath for his alleged involvement in corruption and nepotism.
