Name game

Mohammad Zia-ul-Haque, English department, International Islamic University Ctg.
There are some unhealthy competitions practiced among our political parties. The shameless name game is one of those. We saw this culture during the regime of different political parties. This government came to power with the 'slogan' of change. But we do not get any indication of change of their narrow mind. The AL-led grand alliance is also not an exception in case of coming out from this 'Name Game Culture'. Most probably, this culture is in our blood. However, we all know Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a wise politician, popular leader, spokesman for the people & a true patriot in the history of Bangladesh. He made an outstanding contribution to pave the way of our independence. But in my point of view Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will remain alive through his deeds, not naming of organisations after him. Actually, we need to change our narrow mind. Will everyone forget Mujib if his name is not used? No, never, it is not possible. Therefore, I would like to urge our leaders to be broad-minded and to work hard for the betterment of the country avoiding, such controversies.
