Toward and towards
One of my colleagues while engaged in writing a text suddenly asked me, what’s the difference between the words ‘Toward’ and ‘Towards’? In usage these two words often create confusions, which one is correct?
Well, both ‘toward’ and ‘towards’ are correct. There is no semantic distinction between the words, the difference is rather dialectal, ‘toward’ is common in American English while ‘towards’ in British English. Both the words are being used as preposition.
