Mugda hospital

Mohammad Tahmid Ashraf, Middle Bashabo, Dhaka
We need thousands of physicians to provide medical service to the countrymen and to send professional manpower abroad to earn foreign currency the country needs to implement the development programmes. A 500-bed hospital is being constructed at Mugda in Dhaka city by the government. No doubt it will increase health service facilities of the city. Shortage of medical collages in the country is one of the reasons behind scarcity of qualified medical practitioners. Thousands of science students at higher secondary level are interested to get medical education. Indeed, expansion of general higher education increases unemployed educated population, which is at present a mere wastage of national wealth. Enough space will be available at the Mugda hospital where a medical collage could be set up easily. The decision makers should consider my point.
