Digital Bangladesh and power
These days, very often, we hear about Digital Bangladesh. Before our general election 2009 we did not hear anything about Digital Bangladesh. We only heard about Sonar Bangla.
Why Digital Bangladesh now, instead of Sonar Bangla? Is it a part and parcel of the pledge of “Din Badaler Pala'--the charter of change?
Neither we heard before, nor do we hear today about Digital USA. Digital Nigeria, Digital India, Digital Russia, Digital Japan, Digital China, Digital Saudi Arabia, Digital Germany and so on and so forth.
So what is the significance and justification of Digital Bangladesh? How, why and when would we be able to make a Digital Bangladesh? What is the financial implication involved in making Digital Bangladesh? Is it possible to make Digital Bangladesh with acute shortage of electricity in the country? Is it possible to make digital Bangladesh with our frequent electricity failures?
The education of our children suffers tremendously, works, duties and responsibilities in govt. and private offices, banks, hospitals establishments come to an abrupt halt, we cannot operate our mills, factories, computer, Internet, fax, e-mail etc due to acute shortage of electricity.
If we want to have a Digital Bangladesh, a prosperous and happy Bangladesh, a Sonar Bangla, we must have adequate electricity first!
