Dhaka otherwise

Moinuddin, Dhaka
There is good and bad about everything, so it is with Dhaka city. There is a lot of negative thinking about the city. The most common are -- over population, pollution, disorganised traffic, regular power disruption and crime. Yet there are also some good aspects of Dhaka. The laudable ones are, quite a lot of people are getting richer, increase in the number of high-rise buildings in both private and commercial sectors, noticeable amount of good number of latest cars, etc. On Friday, 29th October 2010, my wife and I had arranged a birthday party for our daughter at BFC, Road- 32, Dhanmondi, from 4:30 pm to 6: 30 pm. After the party, while we waited for parents to pick up their kids, I was really enjoying the outside view through the window of the restaurant. The area looked very bright and colourful, most pedestrians were seen moving around with families with children carrying candies and toys. Other people were seen moving around with friends, and some were shopping around the well-decorated malls. Most of them appeared nicely dressed up. The vendors were seen selling colourful drums, balloons and other attractive toys. The joyful scene really reminded me of my past days in foreign countries. Finally, it was really nice to see everyone so happy and do their best to enjoy life.
