Stalking the girls
This malady is now at the point of being worries for us all. Family, friends, society should take the responsibility for creating awareness against this social ill.
It is time we also thought about the portrayal of evil on TV. Why TV serials now-a-days just centre around 'girl-friend 'boy-friend' theme? The cheap melodramatic romanticism gives an impression that this sort of relationship is a must.
In our culture we don't learn to respect the loved ones, rather learn to capture them by force. Treating women unfairly is also embedded in our society. Old Bangla movies pander to deep-rooted, subconscious prejudice of this kind. In some movies heroes abduct heroines and, incidentally, the heroine seemed to relent to his pressure as he forces her into loving him. How many cinema goers, needless to say they are now senior citizens now, disapproved it?
On a more serious note, Indian TV serials have an adverse effect on our mind. Let us think of the influence of TV serial, nowhere do we learn that 'Jotil' a Bangla word means beautiful, excellent, superb, but this 'jotil' is now being widely misused.
