10 students hurt by workers
At least ten students of Sherpur Polytechnic Institute were injured as some transport workers attacked them at the district sadar yesterday.
Of the injured, Moajjem Hossain, 17, and Mohammad Mizan, 18, were admitted to Sherpur sadar hospital. The others were given primary treatment.
Locals and police sources said some students of the institute locked in an altercation with a bus conductor after he refused to let them get in bus around 9:00.
On information, some students of the institution, five kilometres off the district town, stopped the bus and ravaged it.
The transport workers later attacked some students going to the institution and those living in the nearby rented student house.
