Five killed, 9 injured in road accidents
Five people were killed and nine others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong, Gaibandha, Bogra and Nilphamari on Wednesday and yesterday.
Our correspondent from Chittagong reports: A reckless driven car damaged several vehicles and injured one person in Wasa area in the port city yesterday.
The car hit rickshaws, tempos, CNG-run auto rickshaws one after another. The injured rickshawpuller is Md Yusuf , of Chhinnamul Colony at Ambagan.
Our correspondent from Gaibandha adds: Two Truck drivers were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Gobindaganj and Sadullapur upazilas yesterday.
Police said the first accident took place at about 5:00pm when a Chittagong-bound potato loaded truck rammed into shops on Rangpur-Bogra highway at Dhaperhar Bazaar in Sadullapur upazila, killing its driver Sultan Mahmud, 27, on the spot and two other injured.
In another accident a Dhaka-bound mini truck fell into a roadside ditch after skidded off the road on Gobindaganj-Dinajpur road at Bagda.
The driver of the truck Sohel Mia, 30, was killed on the spot injuring three others.
Our correspondent from Nilphamari says: One person was killed and two others were injured as a three-wheeler (Nosimon) collided head-on with a speedy truck on Wednesday.
The victim is Tuhin Islam, 24, son of Jabanuddin of Khata Modhupur village at Saidpur upazila.
Our correspondent from Bogra reports : At least two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Mohipur area under Sherpur upazila yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Swarup Tamboli, 25, and Swarup Sarker, 22.
