Strengthen grand alliance

Industries Minister Dilip Barua at a rally here yesterday emphasised on stronger unity in the ruling party and among others of grand alliance to continue government's ongoing development activities. He was addressing as the chief guest the rally marking the government's two years and Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu organised by Grand Alliance Chittagong city unit in cooperation with a faction of Awami League (AL) city unit at Laldighi Maidan. Another faction of AL city unit led by Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Amin and AL city unit Vice President Nurul Islam BSc will organise another rally on the same occasion here today. AL city unit President and former city mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, chairing the rally, said government already implemented several development projects in Chittagong and continue doing so. Lawmaker Akhteruzzaman Chowdhury Babu blamed BNP for criticising the activities of the government on baseless grounds. Indicating today's rally organised by another faction of AL, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Mainuddin Khan Badal said many rallies are now being held, some participated by mass people while others by hired men. Jatya Party (JP) leader Anisul Islam Mahmud Chowdhury vowed to continue his party's support to the government for materialising Bangabandhu's unfulfilled dream of economic emancipation.
