Justice Murshed's birthday today
The 100th birth anniversary of late Chief Justice Syed Mahabub Murshed, an eminent jurist, an independent thinker cum judge and one of the greatest constitutional lawyers of the sub-continent, will be observed today. On the occasion, Qurankhwani and Fateha Khawani will be held at Justice Murshed's Mazar at Banani. The Syed Mahabub Murshed Memorial Committee will place wreaths at his grave. A luminary in the judicial field in south Asia and a respected figure in the political arena Justice Murshed has been described by the intellectuals as “A keeper of national conscience”. Various socio-cultural organisations will hold discussion highlighting his historical role and achievements.
