Robbers loot factory, hurt 1
A gang of robbers looted 350 metres of valuable cables from a steel factory warehouse at Kadam Rasul of Sitakunda in the port city yesterday.
Sources said the gang entered Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mill (BSRM), tied all security guards at gunpoint, and snatched the keys to the warehouse.
The miscreants also battered a guard as he denied giving the keys. He was under treatment at Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex.
Habibur Rahman, sub-inspector of Sitakunda Police Station, claimed they detained one of the robbers, but declined to name him for the sake of further investigation.
