All fingers pointed at one man, January 24, 2011
This time we want to see justice is done. No matter who and how influential he is. One cannot become cash rich overnight when he has a troubled past with loans. He must have got Aladin's lamp to come to that extent and we know what the lamp in this country is.
Saimon Haq Unfortunately, we can't speculate who this lucky businessman is because we do not have his profile. We feel sorry for being ignorant about him due to lack of information. My question is-- what prevented the media to publish his name?
Faqrul If that businessman is an aide of our premier and holds an advisory post, why is not our PM taking any disciplinary action? To ignore the interest of lakhs of investors and favour one person to siphon off crores of taka suggest that the government is not serious about the investors.
Nasirullah Mridha If they have adequate proof against him then why were cases not filed against him? How long will this blame game continue without any concrete proof? This is even not good for the market. Specific charges can be brought against anybody because due to CDBL everything is now crystal clear.
Kazi Nasim Ahmed It does not matter what party he belongs to. If the accusations are proved correct, he should be taken into custody immediately to face criminal charges and punished with confiscation of his entire business. Others' involvement should be seriously investigated and severe punishment should be given to all involved.
Kazi Salim Why does not any newspaper reveal his identity?
Zaman This govt. will have to bear the price of same mistake committed twice.
Anonymous This is a black spot on the ruling party. Supporters of ruling party are also shocked. It has many impacts.
Swapan Kumar Sutradhar Ambiguous report, who is the man?
Md. Touhidul Islam Now we have to wait and see what action this government will take against the accused.
Soyeb Very strange report! Why do you hide his name?
Sultan The investors who have bought the shares of his company are to count on interest rate every month of the margin loans, as it's been long the price index of his share is not moving. Now he is advocating in favor of buying back. Does it mean he is going to crash the price of shares of his own companies, and buy them back, for he only holds a scanty percentage of the shares of his own companies? I mean if it is so, then the investors holding those shares are likely to see more debacle in the time to come.
Md. Russell Talukder I wonder why the press does not dare to name this or these men who have siphoned off crores of taka of the small investors. If AMA Muhith knows his/their name, why does not the government bring him/them into justice, confiscate their property, seize their bank accounts, realise the money they have looted and then distribute it to the poor investors? Government should set an example so that no one dares to do this thing again. Otherwise the share market in Bangladesh will never prosper.
Ghulamur Rahman He is close to the current govt. That says it all.
A.Q. Khan Allegation based on perception will not work anymore. Such issue needs to be proved. If we fail to identify, cure and prevent the root cause of capital market disaster like '96, we are bound to face fiercer situation in future.
