The country is moving forward day by day. But eve-teasing is spreading like an epidemic throughout the country. A recent study by the Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association (BNWLA) showed that almost 90 percent girls aged between 10 and 18 have this experience. Trisha, Pinky, Elora are some of the victims of eve-teasing. In the year 2010 till November 14, some 20 girls committed suicide due to eve-teasing. It is found in a media report that about 13,000 women became victims of harassment and violence across the country during January-July, 2008. So, the government should take effective steps to stop eve-teasing by creating awareness and punishing the criminals.
