Shongshoptok This is a very good project and is the only solution to get rid of traffic Jam. Government should start this project as soon as possible.
Afreen Wonderful plan, but there should be stoppage every 2 km for mass communication and another thing the details of the plan should be published in daily newspapers.
Mamun Excellent! Rapid transit is the best way to ease traffic congestion in Dhaka.
Shams Reza Good news for Bangladesh and I hope it will be implemented ASAP.
Tauhidur Rahman Why is everything about Dhaka or Dhaka-centric? We have other cities as well .What development activities are happening there? Just because of being Dhaka-centric we have already made Dhaka a mess. What are we doing about Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna? We rarely see any minister speaking for any other cities other than Dhaka. Are they ministers for Dhaka or Bangladesh?
Sarwar It is undoubtedly a very clever thinking. At least some heads are thinking about this country. But we should look forward to the implementation of this great thinking. There are a lot of people to think but a very few people to implement. Tai noi ki?
Mr. Rony Sarker As naturalized Japanese, it's a very good and big step for my motherland. I'm proud of my Japanese commuting system. But when I see my motherland my heart aches for her transport system. I pray to god for her progress and prosperity.
Izawa I want this Govt to stay for a further period of five years for the sake of the development of the country and also continuation. Only reservation Abul Hossain must be removed from the Govt in any capacity. He is businessman let him do the business. Not influence Govt decision.
Ahmad Dhaka, Chittagong and other cities need underground metro system. Lets do both very soon. If China can so can Bangladesh. The only thing that hold us back is the stupid way the two political parties are playing with the nation. We need to get rid of them. We need to think of Bangladesh and its people.
Anonymous It is very difficult to arrange $1.7 billion for Bangladesh, JICA may not extend full amount as they are not happy with RHD, the way they are maintaining Meghna and Meghna Bridge. The cabinet is misusing their power where 99% people are under poverty level. This can be money making project for Bangladesh. Bangladesh should relocate all offices from Dhaka.
Sohel Rana Metro rail is inevitable for Dhaka city at cheaper price in terms of cost and comfort. Subway like Japan, Moscow, and Paris needs to be considered for 2050.
Md. Kamal Uddin Instead of going for Metro Rail why the govt is not interested to improve the existing Bangladesh Railway? That would have been much cheaper and faster! The number of buses running between these two places will come down once there are 20 trains shuttling everyday! In India, many cities are connected like that.
Md. Shafiqul I Bhuiyan 1. By introducing Metro Rail we can only solve the traffic problem facing Dhaka. But what about other civic facilities of 2 crore people who will be living in Dhaka in near future. Where are gas, electricity, health care and sewerage system? 2. Please spend money (fixed for metro rail) for decentralization of power by converting previous 4 divisions or present 8 divisions into province and give all executive and development power to them which will bring immense benefit for the country. 3. By the amount fixed for Metro Rail. We can create 4 way Electric Railway communication systems for Dhaka-Rajshahi, Dhaka-Sylhet and Dhaka-Chittagong route which will solve the transport problem permanently. 4. I urge the policymaker to shun the idea of Metro Rail and decentralize the power immediately for the greater interest of the country.
Muhammed Elias Well, it's great news for us.
