Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport, Dhaka needs an official website. New comers and travellers from around the world look for information about the airport and the services it offers. It has been many years since Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport (formerly Zia International Airport) is recognised as an international airport. Unfortunately, a search on the internet through search engines (e.g. Google, Yahoo) does not show any official website on the airport. The world has advanced technologically; in this context creating an interactive website for an international airport is easy and we have that capability in Bangladesh. I am requesting the Airport authorities to create a website for the airport. The website should include: arrival and departure schedules (i.e. domestic and international), airport map, location of key service stations, information on airport management authorities, contact address of the authorities, parking locations including parking rates, interactive immigration check in system, suggestion/complain box, and plan for emergency exit. In addition, some space on the website can be used for advertisement of different hotels, transports etc. Airport authorities/ government can earn revenues from these advertisements. I am confident that such website will be helpful for many travellers.
