All pomp and power will go…
Dictators like Kings, want to rule with the unspoken wish to reign "till death sets them apart"! Kings get away with it, as the tradition is anchored on prehistoric realities. Even today, the kings and queens of England are surviving, because they consciously choose the 'Scepter and Crown', over the authority and power to rule. England is ruled by the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers, holding full executive authority.
Dictators, on the other hand, acquire or even 'grab' state power. They all want to remain in power as long as they live and do not like the democratic parliament acting as an irritating 'opposition' at all times.
Bangladesh is the solitary example where a 'dictator' could manage to transform his rule into a 'hereditary democracy'; a sort of amalgam of internal 'dictatorship' with a public face of democracy!
"All the glory, pomp and power
Will go; when comes the hour
Of his impending final departure
Leaving behind all his acquired honour!
