The people of the country need to look back in the War of Liberation to remember their roots and identity, said Foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni. “Some people ask what is the point of looking back in a war that took place 40 years ago,” she said, adding that they need to look back to their past because of their future. The minister was addressing as the chief guest of the closing ceremony of a three-day long youth leadership summit organised by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC) at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city. Dr Gowher Rizvi, international affairs adviser to the prime minister, chaired the event. US Ambassador James F Moriarty, Charles Undeland, senior governance specialist of the World Bank, and DYLC president Ejaj Ahmed also spoke at the programme. A total of 50 speakers and 200 delegates participated in the three-day summit, which aimed to bridge the gap between the youth and the eminent personalities.
