Five killed in road crashes
Five people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in Dinajpur, Manikganj, Natore yesterday and Wednesday.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reports: Three people, including a minor boy, were killed and four children wounded in three separate road accidents in Dinajpur yesterday and Wednesday.
Dead are Aklima Khatun, 30, wife of Md Joynal Abedin of the village Ghugujan of Phulbari upazila; Rakim Ahmed, 8, son of Md Abdul Kuddus of the village Boro Dangapara of Hakimpur upazila; and Nazim Uddin, 40, of the village Mutuni Haat of Kaharol upazila of the district.
Aklima died after being hit by a tractor on Phulbari-Shibnangar road in Phulari Thursday morning.
In Hakimpur, a tractor hit Rakim at a playground of Boro Gangapara village killing the boy on the spot and leaving at least four other children hurt.
Nizam Uddin, a trader, died en route to hospital after a bus hit and injured him critically at Basherhaat of Dinajpur sadar upazila Wednesday night.
Our Manikganj correspondent says: A businessman, injured after being hit by a battery-run three-wheeler in Khondaker Delwar Hossain College area of the district town Saturday evening, died Wednesday night.
Santosh Chandra Dey locally known as Sona, 55, of Purba Dashara area of Manikganj municipality was admitted to Enam Medical College in Savar, outskirts of the capital.
Sona succumbed to his injuries at the hospital three days later.
Our Natore correspondent reports: A three-wheeler driver was killed on the spot after a bus hit his vehicle from behind at Balubhara under Singra upazila in Natore yesterday.
Dead is Jahidur Rahman Jahid, 35, son of Sultal Ali of the village Ekdala under Natore sadar upazila.
