Jamaat sketches 3-week protests

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami yesterday announced three-week long protest programmes beginning tomorrow to press its various demands including controlling price hike of essentials and resolving power and gas crisis. Jamaat Acting Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam announced the programmes at a press conference at its central office at Moghbazar in the city. The party will organise human chains across the country on May 26 protesting price hike of fuel and CNG, stage demonstration on June 1 protesting detention of its top brass, and hold a rally on June 9 protesting cancellation of caretaker government system.
