Road crashes kill 5
Five people were killed and 45 others injured in road accidents in Narayanganj, Mymensingh, and Dinajpur yesterday.
Our Narayanganj correspondent reports: Two persons were killed and 30 others injured in a two-bus collision at Adhuria on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Rupganj upazila yesterday.
Dead are trader Mujibur Rahman of Bijoy Nagar area in Brahmanbaria district, and Maidur Ali, a former member of union parishad, of the same area.
They died after being brought to a hospital.
Nine passengers of the buses, who suffered serious injuries, were admitted to local clinics and hospitals in Narayanganj and Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Our Mymensingh correspondent says: Two motorcyclists died on the spot after a bus hit the vehicle from opposite direction in Hazir Bazar area in Bhaluka upazila yesterday.
Deceased are Samir Mandal, 28, son of Abdus Salam, and Shafiqul Islam, 22, son of Abdur Rahman, both hailing from Jhalbhaja village in Bhaluka.
Our Dinajpur correspondent adds: One person was killed and 15 others wounded in a bus-truck collision at Shalbagan village in Birganj upazila yesterday.
Dead is Md Khademul Islam, 35, the helper of the bus and resident of Panchagarh sadar.
