MP Roni's removal demanded

A day after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina blasted party lawmaker Golam Maula Roni for criticising communications minister in a television talk show, the local party men demanded Roni's removal yesterday. A section of leaders, workers and supporters of AL and its associate bodies of Dashmina and Galachipa of Patuakhali placed the demand at a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city. Mohammad Shakhawat Hossain Shawkat, president of Dashmina unit of Jubo League, led the programme, says a press release. The speakers identified Roni as a BNP-Jamaat spy in the AL and alleged that Roni is trying to do state conspiracy. Last week, Roni in a television talk show described a 'story' on how the communications minister was awarded the cabinet post.
