Youth beaten to death in city
Unknown assailants beat a youth to death at Tejkunipara in the city's Tejgaon yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Hossain Mia, 24, of Nakhalpara slum in Tejgaon.
Hossain remained missing since Saturday noon after he went out of his residence, said Alamgir Hossain, cousin of Hossain.
A rickshaw puller brought him at his residence in critical condition at about 5:00am on Sunday.
Then he was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital at Mahakhali where doctors declared him dead immediate after they admitted him.
Alamgir said they have information that a group of people beat Hossain near a church at Tejkunipara.
Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Police Station, said Hossin was a drug peddler and his rival group beat him over their previous enmity.
But Hossain's family members claimed that he was a rickshaw pullar.
