Housewife killed in Savar

A housewife was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and mother-in-law in Savar on Saturday. The deceased, Munni Khatun, was a worker of AKH Garments in Hemayetpur. Police said Munni got married to Alamgir, a worker of another garment factory in Shyampur, six months ago following an affair. But, ever since they were in marital disharmony, police added. Neighbours said Alamgir, a resident of the Savar town, and his mother Hamida Khatun beat Munni mercilessly following a family feud Saturday noon, leaving her critically injured. Locals rushed Munni to a nearby health centre where duty doctors declared her dead. A case was filed. Police later arrested Alamgir and his mother.
