Road crashes kill 3

Three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Munshiganj and Khulna yesterday. Staff correspondent reports: A policeman was killed on the spot and another injured when a speeding truck from Jatrabari hit his motorbike and fled away at Titipara of Sabujbag in the city around 12:10am yesterday. The deceased was Moksedul Hoque, 42, a habildar of Bangladesh police, posted at Natore district court and a resident of Mothartek in the city. Our Munshiganj correspondent adds: An unidentified adolescent boy was killed and his accompanied motorcyclist injured when a Mawa-bound bus of Falguni Paribahan hit a motorcycle on the Dhaka-Mawa road in Ramerkhola area of Sirajdikhan upazila yesterday. The deceased was Salauddin, 17, of Kathalbari of Srinagar upazila and critically injured Motiur Rahman, 24, of the same area, was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Police seized the bus but its driver fled away. Staff correspondent from Khulna says: A septuagenarian man was killed on the spot when a mini bus ran him over while he was crossing the road near Shahid Hadis Park of Sadar upazila yesterday morning. The deceased was Yusuf Gazi, of Anandanagar village under Digholia Police Station.
