Khaleda's remarks on war criminals condemned
Bangladesh Mahila Parishad has expressed grave concern and condemnation over BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's recent remarks about releasing the war criminals during the party's road march earlier this month.
The forum leaders, in a written statement, said yesterday the comments are “biased towards the war criminals,” and “unfortunate” as these are coming from a leader who was the prime minister of the country twice.
“It is understandable from her remarks that the political patrons of the war criminals are hatching conspiracy to foil the much expected trial of war criminals,” said the statement.
“By creating instability in the name of anti-government movement, they are plotting to foil the trial of war criminals,” it added.
The organisation has demanded speedy trial of the perpetrators of the liberation war.
