JS adopts condolence motion

Parliament yesterday passed a condolence motion on the demise of the Saudi Crown Prince, Sultan bin Abdulaziz al Saud. Ruling party Chief Whip Abdus Shahid moved the motion when the House resumed sitting after breaking of Magrib prayers. He was King Abdullah's half-brother. Prince Sultan was on a visit to the US for medical tests and was underwent an operation in July. Sultan died on Saturday in New York from colon cancer. A delegation led by the Speaker Abdul Hamid left Dhaka last evening for Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral of the prince. Expatriate welfare and oversees employment minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Bazlul Haque Harun MP are among in the delegation, says a press release.
