Man hit by train dies

A man was left spot dead after he met with a train at Salop Railway Station in the district's Ullapara upazila yesterday. The victim was identified as Siraj Uddin, 65, hailed from the upazila's Kazipara village. Bimol Kumar Chaki, officer-in-charge of Sirajganj government railway police (GRP) station, said a Dhaka-bound intercity train 'Silkcity Express' from Rajshahi crushed Siraj under its wheels when he was standing beside the railway platform around 10:00am. Police sent the body to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Our CU correspondent reports, a ten-year-old boy was hit by a Chittagong University (CU) shuttle train when he was crossing the rail line adjacent to Sholoshahar Railway Station in the port city around 5:00pm yesterday. Md Rabiul, son of Azgar Ali of Battery lane, is undergoing treatment in Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
