Processions at RU defying ban
Different student organisations of the Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday brought out processions on the campus during the admission tests defying a suspension order issued by the authorities.
A large number of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists of the university unit brought out a procession while the first year honours admission tests were going on.
Samajtantrik Chhatra Front also staged demonstration in protest against extortion in admission allegedly by BCL workers.
RU Proctor Prof Chowdhury Muhammad Zakaria said action will be taken against the demonstrators.
Many guardians of the admission seekers were on running fearing violence while the admission seekers became panicky inside the exam halls as the slogans were coming from the outside loudly.
Earlier, the university authorities issued an order saying not to organise any demonstration on the campus during the admission test.
Meanwhile, Motihar police arrested a student of the university identified as Imran Hossain in connection with alleged forgery in admission.
