5 ACC official impersonators held
Police arrested five men impersonating as the officers of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on charge of fraudulence at Konabari Jarun in Sadar upazila on Sunday evening.
They are Nazrul Islam, Mahbub, Hamid, Abul Bashar, and Hamidullah.
Police said Nazrul Islam identifying himself as an officer of ACC demanded Tk 5 lakh from one Apul Palowan of the area on October 21.
When Nazrul went to the house of Apul on Sunday evening to receive the money local people caught him and handed him over to police.
Later, following the confessional statement of Nazrul police arrested four others.
