Sheershanews editor gets bail
The High Court yesterday granted bail for four months to Ekramul Haq, the editor of Sheershanews.com, in connection with an extortion case.
Gias Uddin Talukdar, a businessman from Chittagong, filed the case with Kalabagan Police Station on July 28 against Ekramul on charge of extorting Tk 20 lakh from him.
Police arrested the online news agency editor on July 30.
Petitioner's counsel Khandaker Mahbub Hossain said earlier Ekramul got bail from lower court in two other criminal cases filed against him.
