Four cars recovered, 9 held

Police in a five-day drive till yesterday arrested nine members of a car-lifter gang and recovered four cars from different parts of the country. The arrested were Rafiqul Islam, Mohammad Hasan alias Hekmat, Mohammad Kajol, Tariqul Islam Babu, Shahidul Islam, Mohammad Foysal, Mohammad Salman, Mohammad Fazlu, Enamul Hoque Shamim. Following a case filed on October 21 in connection with lifting of a private car from the port city, police started investigation. A team of police in a drive at Brahmanbaria on October 23 arrested Rafiqul, Kajol and Hasan. According to their information, the police conducted drives in Feni, Joydevpur in Dhaka and different areas of Gazipur and Chittagong and arrested the rest six.
