Female bank official commits 'suicide'
A female bank official allegedly committed suicide at her husband's residence in the city's Khilgaon early yesterday.
The deceased is Tanjima Mizan alias Yasmin, 27, junior officer of Prime Bank, Mohakhali branch, and wife of a trader Rasel Kabir of Khilgaon.
Sub-inspector Abu Sayed Akanda of Khilgaon Police Station said Yasmin used to live at her mother's house in Mohakhali with her two-year old child for job purpose while Rasel lived at his residence in Khilgaon. Yasmin and their child used to visit Rasel twice a week. On the issue of their staying apart, the couple locked into an altercation Friday night.
Later, Yasmin went to a separate room to sleep and hanged herself from the ceiling fan with her scarf at sometime of the night. Police recovered her hanging body from the house around 11:30am.
