Road crashes kill 2, injure 4

Two people, including an old man, were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Kishoreganj and Manikganj yesterday. Our Kishoreganj correspondent reports: An old man was killed on the spot and four others were injured when two passenger-loaded Tomtoms, locally made three-wheeler, collided head-on on the Kishoreganj-Pakundia highway at Baganbari in Pakundia upazila yesterday. The deceased is Md Ayub Ali, 60, of Dipeshar village of Hossainpur upazila. The injured were admitted to Pakundia Upazila Health Complex. Our Manikganj correspondent says: A youth was killed on the spot when a truck ran him over while he was standing at Paturia Ferry Terminal in Shivalaya upazila yesterday. The deceased is Rubel, 25, of Dighirpar of Jessore. He worked as a helper of a truck. Police seized the truck and arrested the truck driver Sujon Mia.
