Kalim Sharafi's anniversary of death today
Today is the first death anniversary of Kalim Sharafi, a cultural revolutionary and prominent singer. He was also the founder of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha. On the occasion, Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha will organsie a memorial meeting titled “Tobu Mone Rekho” at the Public Library auditorium at Shahabag in the city at 6:30pm today, says a press release. Reminiscences, photo exhibition, screening of the video songs of Kalim Sharafi and Saron Sangeet will be features of the programme. He trod along the cultural way for making people politically conscious, especially during the struggle against British colonial rule, the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and movement launched in independent Bangladesh in 1991 against the war criminals.
