Three strangled in city

Police recovered three decomposed bodies including one of a young woman from the city's Bangshal, Mohammadpur and Airport areas on Monday. Sources at morgues on post mortem confirmed that the three were strangled to death. Bangshal police recovered the decomposed body of Shahin Ahmed, 18, from the rooftop water tank of an under-construction 10-storey building on Abul Hasnat road in the area around 8:00pm on Monday. Police suspect that Shahin was killed by his co-workers and five construction workers of the site were detained for interrogation on the matter, said JBangshal police. The body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College morgue for autopsy. The same night, the body of an unidentified girl in her twenties was recovered from the rooftop of a five-storey building on Tajmahal Road in Mohammadpur. Mohammadpur police suspect that the girl might have been working with a media centre titled Genesis View situated on the building's top floor. Police picked up four persons from the centre. Meanwhile, airport police recovered the decomposed body of a youth aged about 30 years from a garden of Civil Aviation on Monday. The unidentified body was lying in the deep jungle where public entrance is prohibited, with the area guarded by Ansars, he said. The two bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
