'Punish killers'
Different social and political organisations demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the killers involved in the killing of Narsingdi municipality mayor Lokman Hossain, says separate press releases.
They also expressed deep condolence at the death of the mayor and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Bangladesh Chhatra League central committee, Gono Forum, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Municipal Association of Bangladesh (Mab), and local government, rural development and cooperatives ministry expressed condolence at separate statements.
Meanwhile, Mab has declared a series of programmes protesting the murder of Lokman.
