Road crashes kill 3
Three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Natore, Manikganj and Jhenidah yesterday.
Our Natore correspondent reports: A youth was killed on the spot when a Kushtia-bound speedy truck from Bogra hit a potato-laden truck from behind while the truck was stationed beside the road for repairing in Coinbazar area of Boraigram upazila yesterday.
The deceased was Abdul Motin, 20, son of Babul Sheikh, of Jogipara of Kushtia.
Our Manikganj correspondent adds: A junior school certificate examinee was killed when an auto-rickshaw turned upside down while he was going to his examination center to take part in the examination at Kalibari of Banibaho in Rajbari Sadar upazila yesterday.
The student was Suman Biswas, 14, son of Sukumar Biswas, of Lokkhinarayanpur village of Banibaho union, and a student of Bartha High School.
Our Jhenidah correspondent says: A college student was killed and two others were seriously injured when a speeding Jessore-bound truck knocked their motorcycle while they were going to junior school certificate examination centre near Mobarakganj Sugar Mills in Kaliganj upazila yesterday.
The deceased was Abid Hasan Setu, 19, son of Abul Kashem, of Raghunathpur village of Kaliganj upazila and an honours student of Jessore Cantonment College. The two injured are Maruf Hossain Judge, 13, son of Sabdar Ali and Lalchand, 14, son of Moieen Uddin.
Both are students of Rostom Ali Secondary School. The injured were admitted to Jessore Sadar Hospital.
