Nurul Huda Mirza passes away

Nurul Huda Mirza, popularly known as Chhoti Bhai, a Tevaga Peasant Movement veteran, passed away at Birdem hospital in the city on Tuesday night due to old age complications at the age of 83, says a press release. Mirza, a confirmed bachelor, left behind his relatives, admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death. He was buried at Bakushah Graveyard in the city after namaz-e-janaza on the Eidgah Mosque premises at Dhanmondi yesterday afternoon. He stepped into politics with Muslim League and played a key role during the Tevaga Movement in early 40s. Later, he took part in the Language Movement in 1952 and served as a general secretary of Dinajpur unit Muslim League.
