Ten arrested in city
Detective Branch (DB) of police, in separate drives, arrested ten people on different charges from Jatrabari and Sadarghat areas in the city on Thursday.
The arrestees are: Jamal alias Jony, Abul Hossain alias Abul, Selim Khan, Palash Karmakar, Hasan Hawladar, Younus Ali, Kamal Hawladar, Imran Hossain alias Imran, Meer Hasan Alias Hasan and Shihab Hossain alias Khalek.
Acting on tip-off, a DB police team led by Assistant Police Commissioner Mohammad Golam Azad Khan arrested them for their alleged involvement in looting and possessing fake notes.
The police also recovered a firearm, five bombs, two knives, four bags and a number of forged notes.
Police filed three cases with Jatrabari and one with Kotwali Police Station in these connections.
