Two missing in Buriganga boat capsize
Two women were reported missing in the river Buriganga as a boat carrying them capsized after it was hit by a launch yesterday evening.
Witnesses said Tania, 20, newly married housewife of Madaripur, her husband Monir Hossain and four others on board a small boat tried to get into Madaripur bound launch MV D Plus, which was anchored at the midstream of the river near the Sadarghat launch terminal.
Presently came another launch MV Dipraj and hit hard the boat from behind. The boat capsized with all the six passengers at about 5:45pm.
Tania and another unidentified woman remained missing while four others were rescued.
Divers of the Fire Brigade were trying to rescue the missing women till 7 pm.
