Jail guard killed in road accident
A jail guard was killed when a motorcycle hit him while he was crossing the Manoshabari Road at Kawnia in Barisal city yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin, 47, a guard of Barisal Central Jail.
After the accident, he was rushed to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) where duty doctors declared him dead.
Police arrested motorcycle driver Shamim Howladar, 22, who operates a rental motorcycle service, in the area.
The body was sent to SBMCH morgue for autopsy, police said.
